Prepare for Surgery

Your surgical procedure will be scheduled through your surgeon’s office. At this time, you will sign your operative consent. You will also be given written instructions, including a password to sign onto our Simple Admit platform to collect your medical history.

The day before your surgery, you will receive a call from one of our pre-op nurses who will specify the time for your arrival at the surgery center. Together, you can talk confidentially about your medical history, anesthesia experiences, and any medications and supplements you may be taking. If you have not heard from us by 2:00 PM the day before your procedure, please call us at 267.954.1200 and ask for our pre-op department.

COVID protocols are in place for the safety of our patients, doctors and staff. Protocols will be reviewed during your pre-op call.

If you have a financial obligation, you will receive a text and/or email from Clariti outlining the breakdown of your financial responsibility. Our insurance verifier will call as needed. If you have any questions about your financial responsibility, please call 267.954.1200 and ask to speak with our insurance verifier.

Prior to your day of surgery, please review Patient Rights & Responsibilities, Advance Directives Policy and Ownership Disclosure. Or, you may obtain them from your doctor’s office. Federal regulations require that you review these notices before your surgery.

If you experience any change in your physical condition, such as a cold, cough or fever, notify your doctor prior to your surgery.

You must have a responsible adult drive you home after surgery and stay with you through the night. Do not rely on a taxi, Uber, Lyft or any type of public transportation. If this is a problem, please notify your doctor or our center nurse when she calls.

At Home Before Surgery

  • The night before your surgery, do not eat or drink anything after midnight. Water is permitted four hours prior to your arrival time at the surgery center.
  • If you have been instructed by our nurse to take your morning medications, take them with only a sip of water.
  • Refrain from smoking for 12 hours prior to your procedure.
  • Bathe or shower to minimize the risk of infection. If you are having an early morning procedure, you may bathe or shower the night before.
  • On the day of your surgery, plan to wear loose fitting clothing that is easily removed and foldable. Wear comfortable, flat shoes.
  • Remove and leave at home all jewelry and body piercings.
  • Bring your glasses, hearing aids and dentures with their cases for storage.
  • If there is a possibility you are pregnant, please inform us.
  • Arrange to have a responsible adult accompany you to the surgery center and drive you home after surgery discharge, since you will be unable to drive after anesthesia. This adult must remain at the center during your procedure and be ready to receive your doctor’s post-surgery report. Public transportation is not an option.
  • If you do not complete our online Simple Admit registration, please bring a list of any medications or supplements you are taking.
