New Britain Surgery Center is a physician/hospital owned and operated ambulatory surgery center for people and businesses in Montgomery County, Bucks County and surrounding areas. We specialize in minimally invasive orthopedic surgeries, foot and ankle surgeries and pain management procedures requiring no overnight stay.

Luis Mercader, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Mercader earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, followed by an internal medicine internship at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia where he was named chief resident and honored as Outstanding Graduate Resident in Anesthesiology. He served as Chief of the Anesthesia Department at Watson USAF Hospital in Fort Dix, NJ, and as assistant clinical professor at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Mercader has been a staff anesthesiologist at Abington Jefferson Hospital since 1995.
Certification: American Board of Anesthesiology.
